This page explains how we research and review scalp-care products, and the standards behind every recommendation on ScalpNest. Because scalp care sits close to health, we hold ourselves to careful, honest rules.
Medical disclaimer
ScalpNest is a consumer product-review site, not a medical resource. Our editor is not a physician, and nothing here is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We describe how cosmetic products feel and perform; we do not claim they cure, treat, or prevent any condition. For persistent, severe, painful, or worsening symptoms — or any concern about hair loss or a skin condition — please consult a board-certified dermatologist.
Independence first
We are independent. We buy the products we review ourselves and accept no payment, free product, or sponsorship in exchange for a favorable review or placement. A brand cannot pay to rank higher.
How we test
We use each product over real routines and assess texture, feel, scent, ease of use, and how it fits into daily life. Our impressions are about usability and experience, not clinical effect. Where active ingredients are involved (for example in anti-dandruff shampoos), we describe them factually and tell you to follow the package directions.
Evidence and qualified language
When we mention possible benefits, we use careful language (“may help,” “some people find,” “evidence is limited”) and we flag where research is small or preliminary. We never overstate what a product can do, and we are especially cautious about hair-growth claims.
Accuracy and corrections
We never invent prices, star ratings, stock levels, certifications, or study results. Always confirm details on the retailer’s own page before buying. If we get something wrong, tell us through our contact page and we will correct it promptly.
Affiliate relationship
ScalpNest earns affiliate commissions, disclosed in full on our affiliate disclosure page, and they never influence our judgment. Learn more about ScalpNest.
